===========================================================

Watching “I propose” on StyleTV the other afternoon I was quite touched by the great lengths young men go to to say “will you marry me?” I then realized that my partner could have done better. I don’t even have a diamond to show for it. He thinks I watch bad TV and some channels should be banned in our home.

I got into this wedding mood as we went to do the wedding ring shopping the other evening. Everyone was asking if I am getting married. Off course not. I just had to have a new one. This also reminded me of how much I love weddings. I attended quite a few in 2007.

We had a reunion with my cousins as one of us had a wedding. And I attended my friend’s wedding which looked so extravagant. Three course meal and an open bar. I wondered with my frugal mind, “was it really necessary?” It probably was.

This week we are looking at proposal ideas, the bride price tradition, traditional anniversary gifts, wedding ideas live auction and wedding planning books. Traditionally I should get sugar for my next anniversary. I think they meant chocolate. For those who are planning their own weddings, don’t despair, help is at hand.

4. Health News Highlights this Week:

4.1 Anxiety Good for Elderly Women and Bad for Elderly Men

Higher anxiety levels may help elderly women live longer, but may harm elderly men. The stud conducted in the US showed that women with higher levels of anxiety lived longer than others. In contrast to women, men with higher anxiety were more likely to die earlier. (SOURCE: HealthDay News)

Our Take on this: Weird as always, thats science.

4.2 25 Percent of Teen Girls have a Sexually Transmitted Disease

in the US alone more than 3 million teenaged girls have at least one sexually transmitted disease (STD), according to a government study. (SOURCE: HealthDay News)

Our Take on this: The right time to talk about sex with our kids is NOW and TODAY.

4.3 Yoga Eases Menopause Symptoms in Breast Cancer Survivors Yoga helps ease hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms in breast cancer survivors according to the recent study. The yoga program used in this study is specifically designed to address menopausal symptoms through gentle stretching postures, breathing exercises, meditation techniques, group discussions and study of yoga principles. Our Take on this: My ebook on Hormonal Imbalance will be launched next week. You'll be the first to know.

4.4 Workplace Bullying More Harmful Than Sexual Harassment

Bullied workers had more stress, less commitment and higher levels of anxiety in the study by M. Sandy Hershcovis, et al. The abuse comes in various forms including, persistent criticism, belittling comments, bullying and other forms of workplace aggression.

The worse part is that non-violent forms of workplace aggression such as incivility and bullying are not illegal, leaving victims to fend for themselves. (SOURCE: American Psychological Association

Our Take on this: Please refer to our previous newsletter article http://www.healthfun-ps.com/bullying.html
