God's Ways Guarantee Success

In our everyday life we are challenged to make a choice between doing things God’s way or the world’s way. In His word God has promised us success in all circumstances. However, this success comes when we do things God’s way. The challenge that many Christians struggle with the word of God is because they want to reason it out according to their thoughts. The scripture above gives us a relief. God is making an announcement that his ways and thoughts are higher than ours. He even goes further to inform us that his word is guaranteed results as stated in the word.

The assurance that God is giving in his word is almost similar or related to the one a car manufacturer gives to the customers through the manual. Car manufacturers spell out almost everything about the operation of the car in the manual. They tell you the effect of certain actions or activities. They tell you how to operate the car, when to service it, different functions in the car etc. If you operate the car according to their instructions, you are guaranteed to get the comfort they promise. Everything that they tell you in the manual has been tried and tested and passed the test. That is why they are willing to take responsibility for any malfunctioning. If you operate it in your ways (that are contrary to the ways recommended by the manufacturer), chances are you may not get the comfort and enjoyment that you were supposed to derive from proper usage. You may even find yourself breaking it quicker than it should. Your negligence in the operation of the car may even lead you to forfeiting some of the benefits that manufacturer promises. However, God accepts anyone who repents.

Just like a car dealer or any manufacturer God (remember you are his creation) says that we should operate his creation according to his ways which are already tested and approved by him if we are to live the life He promises us. These ways are guaranteed the results He promises. Interestingly, God tells us that His ways and thoughts are higher. They are higher than the devil’s ways. That is why the devil will try to have you fight him according to your thoughts. He knows that if you think God’s thoughts, He can’t beat you. So his approach is to take you from the high way (God’s ways) into the lower ways (his ways – thoughts contrary to God’s word).

So as Christians we have to be alert and learn from the old saying that, “Never argue with a fool because he will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.” As a Christian we must instead pull him up to the high way and see victory that God has already given us through the life of Jesus Christ. God’s high ways are found in the word. If you spend enough time in fellowship with God, the devil won’t be able to drag you to his level. He will remain under your feet, where he belongs. Believe in God’s word more than you believe in the manual of the car manufacturer or the manufacturer himself.
