Anger Management

Anger management is the skill we all need. Getting offended by people and situations is unavoidable. Whilst nothing is wrong with being angry, acting too quick on it can be very damaging.

We lead very hectic lives, which makes us very edgy, sensitive and irritable most of the times. We never pay attention; we are too busy; traffic is driving the most patient of us up the wall; our jobs are very demanding; take – aways and instant meals are the order of the day and all this contributes to our zero tolerance of each other.

Being this sensitive creates a lot of tension in families and at work. Our own personal situations make us take everything on someone else. The feeling of being exhausted brings out all the negative energies and leads to more negativity in our lives. Think about a bad day, you start it with a sigh, declare it’s a bad day, and it continues in the same tone until you end it with yet another sigh: “What a day!!!”.

How to Avoid Anger

Declare. We miss on an opportunity to have a perfect day everyday by simply not declaring our day perfect, everyday. Be positive, pray and believe for a perfect day.

Perfect Start. There is something positive about the good start of the day. Meditation has a way of calming us and preparing us for harsh situations. Exercise is another great idea to starting a day. It gives us lots of feel-good energies. Don’t skip breakfast.

Health and Wellness. Looking into your wellness leads to happiness. If all the spikes of your wellness wheel are taken care of, nothing will put you down. You are able to keep focus and stay calm and collected. Continuously work on your wellness.

Smile. Make it a habit to be nice to people around you. Be nurturing with your encouragement, support and just friendliness. Get to know those you work with and their families, people feel loved when you show interest in their lives.

Perfect End. End your day the perfect way. Pray, meditate, read, etc. Do a quick review of your day. If something did hurt or disturb you, deal with it before its too late. Learn to express your feelings in a positive way.

Always think of the positive side of the negative looking event. This goes with people too. Tell them of their positive side (strengths) before analyzing their weaknesses. Try to separate the event from the people involved whenever possible, so that you remain objective. Anger management is a skill anyone can learn.
