14. Verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
15. Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them by my Father, which is in heaven.
Matthew 18: 18 – 19
One of the things that people do not know today is the power given to believers all over the world. I believe we haven’t scratched the surface as far as this power is concerned. Sadly many believers themselves are not fully aware of this authority. Two types of this authority are mentioned in the scripture above.
The power to bind and loose things. This is the power to decide the course of events here on earth. God has given that authority to believers. Christians can decide and ‘bind it’ that there shall never be sickness in their families, there shall never be poverty in their families, their children are saved, their family members are saved, their cities, towns and villages are for Christ and many more situations. The key however is that whatever we decide to bind or loosen MUST be in line with the will of God. If you look at the examples I’ve just given, all of them are freely given to us by God.
The second one is one that we use together with other believers: partnership. If you are married, you have a partner with whom you agree and together present that request to the LORD and it shall be granted. There is power in agreement. Don’t pray with someone unless you agree.
With all this promise of power given to believers, why then are we seeing so much evil in the world? There are many explanations for this. One of those is that the church is not taking authority on these things. We need to take authority backed by faith that will not waiver even when the situation doesn’t seem to change. Of course some believer is believing for a positive outcome and that outcome has already happened in the heavenly places (spiritual realm). It is important also to note that God has given people the power to choose life or death. Whatever we do we cannot violate the power or right that people have. God will always honour that. |
