Detox and Detoxing Benefits
Detox and detoxing is a controversial subject among health experts. You are probably asking yourself a question that millions of people are also asking themselves; “To detoxify or not to”. There is only one way of finding out: viz. by weighing the benefits and negative effects.
We are faced with a challenge of inhaling, eating and drinking toxins. Some claim that the body itself is able to rid itself of these deadly toxins whilst some believe we need to do more to aid our bodies. We will never be able to know which is which. That makes making a healthy choice very difficult.
Whilst our bodies never fail to deliver the clean bodies to us, we never know if we are not pushing it a little too far by keeping on leading unhealthy lives. We have the liver, colon, kidneys, gallbladder, lungs, skin, etc which function in carrying on this detoxification function. But how many of our relatives have died from the failure of these body parts. Could it be because they are working overtime, or we keep on doing the “health don’ts”? I actually think so. Who can blame our bodies after all the toxins we keep injecting our bodies with.
You and I may choose to go the detoxing route; but is it enough? I actually think, making the healthy lifestyle choices throughout our lives is the only solution. There are people who want to take a little too much alcohol, smoke as much as they please and eat junk 90 percent of the time and expect a week of raw food to be a solution. It does not work that way. For the rest of the population, I would give detoxing a chance. I look and feel much better after an occasional plain and mainly organic fruit and vegetable diet. There has to be something to it.
