English Church in Maputo

In an effort to get a Spiritual home and to get integrated in the community, we asked around for an English church in Maputo. One of the teachers at the Maputo International School referred us to a church where there are a number of Missionaries and foreigners like us.

The church was not as exciting as we envisaged. Looks like we can’t call it home. So we will still continue with the search. The challenge is language. Most activities in and around Maputo are conducted in Portuguese. We are only starting with our Portuguese lessons next week. I just can’t wait to speak like a local. I usually don’t mind the accent. I speak about 6 languages with my own accent. The message reaches home, which IMO is what matters.

So learning Portuguese is one of the most exciting things about being in Mozambique. Visiting the islands and crisp clean beaches north of Maputo is another one. I just cant wait and I’ll definitely post the pictures here.
