Faith in the God who wants to meet your needs

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hebrews 11: 5 – 6

All of us need God for one thing or other. It could be healing, of self or loved one, salvation, job or any other thing. Let’s look at three lessons from the above scripture:

(1) Without faith it is impossible to please God, Paul explains the fact that Enoch was taken away or translated because he pleased God. This is a passage of scripture taken from Genesis 5 verses 22 to 24. He says it was by faith that he pleased God. Hebrews 10: 38 states that ‘the righteous shall live by faith: and if any man draws back my soul will have no pleasure in him’. If we have a problem, God wants us to come to him by faith and if we don’t come to him or come to him without faith he will not be pleased with us. (2) He is, What God said, he still says the same even today. He is the same today and forever. He does not change. What he can do to someone else God can and he wants to do for you. Often people believe that God can heal the sick but somehow don’t believe he can do it for them. But God is no respecter of persons. All we need to do is believe him.

(3) We need to be diligent It takes effort and commitment to seek the Lord. We must take time to pray, we must take time to study the word of God. We must make changes in our lives to be in a position to receive from God. We need to change the way we speak about the problems in our lives. We can’t pray one thing and speak something else. Our prayer, our faith and our words must speak the same thing. Then our healing will come forth like the sun.

So if you have a problem or you are just seeking him for a better relationship with him, go to him by faith, knowing that He is and that He is your rewarder because you seek him with diligence.
