Have Faith in GodHave faith in God irrespective of your circumstances.
"Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! The sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as sure footed as a deer, able to tread upon the heights." Christians should have faith in God. Our faith in God should not be determined by the circumstances around us. Instead, our faith should be based on the promises that God has made in his word. There may be no grapes or olives or whatever we rely on for our natural life hear on earth. But we still have to rejoice in the Lord in those circumstances. In other words, our joy should not be determined by the external factors. These never last forever. But joy that comes from inside, and from our ability to connect into the river of the living water is eternal. Our joy should come from the fact whatever circumstances that we face are temporary. God has made a commitment and promise in Isaiah 54:10, where God says that, “For the mountains may move and hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken.” If God has made such a promise, we have to trust in his word and believe that he will fulfill his word. According to God we are blessed because he has a covenant with us which he will never reverse. If someone told you that you have a curse, forget about it and look at your challenges with faith that God will fulfill his promise. If you are going through some kind of barrenness, whether of finances, health, employment etc, don’t loose your joy. Just know that those things are seasonal. The season will pass, but God’s promises and love endures forever. Stay in faith and see your situation changing for the better. The scripture says that our afflictions are just for a moment and the outcome is the glory which is incomparable to such afflictions. This is not meant to say that you will not go through barrenness or downplay your circumstances, but to encourage you to look at that barrenness or situation as a temporary occurrence. It does not matter how long the situation has existed in your life. Jesus was able to change circumstances of people who had infirmities from birth and those who had them for a number of years. How long you had it does not make any difference to Christ. It is not your strength that will change the situation. It is not by might or by power, but by the spirit of the Lord. Keep your joy because the joy the Lord is your strength and watch God fulfills his word.
