Healthy Pregnancy
All you need to do when pregnant is to take care of yourself by making healthy pregnancy choices daily. Pregnancy means that you no longer make choices only for yourself but for two or more people every time. You can choose to give your little one a healthy start or a bad one. If you are a junk kind of a girl, its time you stop and start afresh.
Whilst the whole nine months of your pregnancy is crucial, the first two months is the time when the embryo is at a most vulnerable state; DO put more effort to make it a healthy pregnancy. The following are some of the Health Dos for a pregnant mom:
- Choose a healthy diet every time
. This is the time to make right diet choices. Whatever you take in, goes to your unborn baby. Eat healthy, well-balanced meals.

- Listen to your body.
This is the only language your unborn baby will use. Your aches and strange feelings can communicate how the baby is doing. Consult with your doctor or gynecologist whenever you have an unusual feeling or pain.
- Quit Smoking
. There are no buts, whys about in. Just quit, it’s an honorable thing to do for your baby and your conscience. Babies that are born to smoking moms can have defects and severe abnormalities. Now, can you live with yourself?
- Quit Drinking.
Excessive drinking may result in your baby having sicknesses in the long run. There is no certain knowledge of dangerous amounts yet. So my advice would be for a pregnant mom to stay away from alcohol.
- Get Enough Exercise.
Just enough, not too much exercise. Walk around th block daily. Stretch and maybe join a yoga class if possible. Moderate exercise is the best gift to yourself.
- Get Enough Rest.
Relaxation is the best health strategy whilst pregnant. Rest and get enough sleep. It keeps your mind and body healthy.
- Stay Away from Stress.
Choose to live a stress free life. Don’t over work and stay away from any sources of negative energy. If work is a problem, take leave; avoid toxic relationships; stay in a positive environment.
- Avoid Medication and Supplements.
The only medication, supplements and vitamins that you should take are those prescribed by your doctor. Nothing else. It is possible to use the vitamins wrongly for your baby.
- Limit Caffeine Intake.
Excessive caffeine could be bad for your unborn baby. It is bad for your sleep and could be harmful to your baby.
- Excitement is Good.
Use your energy to prepare for your baby. Create a nursery of your dreams if you wish and can. Being preoccupied by your unborn baby is normal. You are blessed and never forget to praise God for your gift.
