A full understanding of this scripture can literally free you from all bondages that the devil may have put in your life. The devil certainly does not want us to fully understand these truths. The common belief among Christians is that we are in a war. We are fighting the devil. But this scripture does not say that, neither the rest of the Bible. Look at the sequence of this scripture:
As all these things were happening to Jesus, we were together with him. I like the final one: He made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. That is where Christians are – we are seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. And if you read this passage of scripture with Ephesians 1: 20 – 23 you will notice that all things are under our feet including all principalities, powers and every name that is named – the devil included. Victory belongs to us. We are not trying to get it. We have victory. The fight we must fight is the fight of faith. Constantly believing. Refusing to be moved into disbelief. Our fight is to stand (Ephesians 6: 10 -) on the word of God as the ultimate truth. Even when our feelings tell us something else, let every man be liar be God be true. People perish because of lack of knowledge. If only we can know and determine to fight the good fight of faith by believing the truth of word of God, we will see the physical manifestation of the victory The LORD won in Calvary. Read the scriptures, meditate on them and believe them.
