Keep Digging the WellsKeep Digging the Wells. You will reap the rewards in due coarse.
"So all the wells that his father’s servants had dug in the time of his father Abraham, the Philistines stopped up, filling them with earth. Then Abimelech said to Isaac, “Move away from us; you have become too powerful for us.” " Isaac the son of Abraham found himself in a foreign land under king Abimelech. God prospered him there until he became very wealthy. The bible records that the Philistines filled his wells with the earth and requested him to leave. In other words they stopped his water supply and requested him to leave their area. Instead of being dejected and fighting with the men, Isaac left the place as requested and dug other wells. Fellow Christians, in life our wells will be filled with earth. In fact, there are people who cannot stand to see the blessings that God has put upon your lives. These people may try by all the means to try and stop the joy that comes from those blessings. When you see it happening, do not sit down and cry over the closed wells. Keep on moving and digging new wells. This is what Isaac did. He moved on dug other wells and discovered fresh water. But this time the enemies claimed the well. He left them and dug another one which the enemy claimed as well. He moved on until no one quarreled with him. In fact, he continued digging wells until his enemy came and made a treaty of peace with him. What I am saying fellow Christians is that we do not have to always fight our way out. I know other people would say that you must first check what the spoils are before you make a decision on whether to fight or not. But sometimes you just have to let go even if the spoils are big. Isaac had everything to fight for since his wells were filled up. But he decided to take the high road. He allowed the enemy to win the war. That is when God showed up and gave him more wells. I believe that the strength that he used to dig up a new well was far much less compared to the strength he would have used in the battle. Instead of engaging in battles, we sometimes have to let go and keep on digging new wells. What we don’t realize is that we are too blessed to fight with our adversaries. Instead, we must heap fires of coal in their hearts by allowing them to win sometimes while we continue to open more of God’s everlasting supply. Our adversaries would not be attacking you if there was nothing that is offending them with your life. That thing is the blessing that is overflowing in you. They want to be like you and they don’t know how. So they will try to take it from you. Next time when you see someone trying to take your joy, know that they need to be ministered to on how to have joy. They envy you and are too ashamed to ask you how they can tap into that life. Don’t be bothered again. Take the high road always.
