List of Low Cholesterol Foods

A list of low cholesterol foods is expected to contain very expensive foods. Surprisingly it is reasonable, easy to produce food that you have in your kitchen. These will be all plant based foods.

Cholesterol Free Food #1: Vegetables

Vegetables naturally contain zero cholesterol zero cholesterol . May I add that the unprocessed food has a lot more benefits compared to food that has been processed. As a bonus, vegetables lower cholesterol for sufferers. Try more garlic, onion and leeks in all your stews and soups. Fresh, raw and unprocessed food is great medicine.

Cholesterol Free Food #2: Fruit

Like vegetables, fruit lowers cholesterol. I especially recommend berries as they contain high levels of antioxidants.

Cholesterol Free Food #3: Whole Grains

Healthy carbohydrates will help your body fight a lot of sicknesses including cancer and obesity. Oats is especially a great source of nutrients and fibre. All other types of whole grains are good for your heart health.

Cholesterol Free Food #4: Plant Based Protein

Why not substitute your animal protein with plant based protein. Foods like beans, peas, lentils, soy products and nuts are a great source of healthy protein. You may even add your lentils to add more flavour to your stews and rice. Canned beans add more protein in vegetable salads. Vegetarians need to use a lot of beans in their diet.

Cholesterol Free Food #5: Oils

Use the good oils like seeds and nuts as part of your diet. Avocado is among the best oils and helps with fertility in women (Please read more on Avocado Benefits). Unprocessed seeds and nuts have a lot of benefits for everyone’s heart. Canola and olive oil are also a great source of the good omega oils. Everyone should be taking flaxseed oil in any form for a healthy body. All these oils are good for your heart, hair and skin. This is our list of low cholesterol foods.

"As with men, women's most common heart attack symptom is chest pain or discomfort. But women are somewhat more likely than men to experience some of the other common symptoms, particularly shortness of breath, nausea/vomiting, and back or jaw pain."
