| The foundation in every parenting is love. Ensuring love in parenting enables you to reach out to your kids and be their number one support. As the bible perfectly puts it: “love conquers all”. This is very true in all relationships and especially that of parents and children.
Love your kids but above all, let them know that you do. It is not as obvious as you think it is. You need to act (love them); tell (say I love you); and show (a clear demonstration) that you love them.
All normal parents love their kids but most fail to let their kids know how much they love them. Making time to spend with them in your tight schedule will go a long way to pass the “I love message” to your child. Let your child know she/ he is your priority and actually make them a priority.
It’s important to know that your relationship with your kids doesn’t break your relationship with your spouse. Never neglect yourself or/ and your spouse because you give all your attention to your kids.
Make it a habit to have time together with the whole family. Meal times and prayer times, play times are to be spent by the whole family whenever possible. Parenting should be by love and communication of love. |
