Party by the Swimming PoolThere is a group of hubby's colleagues visiting Maputo for two weeks from South Africa. The local colleagues decided to throw a party for them. A barbeque/ braai by the complex’s swimming pool. I have been here for two weeks but I haven't set my foot in this area of the complex. I take walks with my princess and pass a distance away. I helped contribute to the cause in the form of baked chicken. Silly me, people came with raw meat to actually grill it there. Next time, I say… Well there were about five of them. I was told we are starting at 18h30. I had to go pass by the hostess’ home. Guess what, she was still taking a bath. So much for being told we have to be there earlier. I don’t know if these “hubby’s colleague do’s” will do it for me. The party went very well. I loved the African Jazz and *note to myself* “I need to buy some CDs and African Art”. The guests were really enjoying themselves. And so were kids. This place is so child friendly, something that makes this adventure so-so worth it. There was too much meat and a lot more alcohol. No one was touching a lovely salad with avocado, cherry tomatoes, some raw, sweet green beans. I never saw that flat type of green beans, I have to hunt it down. I know for a fact that they bought it here, in the Maputo fresh produce market.
“The Europeans who went to Africa came back with "modern' art. What is more African than a Picasso?”
