Passion and a Career Path

Passion and a career path plan should go together. Career planning is a lifetime process, which is more than just choosing an occupation and getting a job. The process of choosing your career should start with you identifying what you love doing and what you can do without any financial gain. You will never have to work your entire life, but have fun.

Some of us have no passion for what we do but we wake up and go back every morning. We have to pay our bills at the end of the day. If being subjected to a lot of stress is part of the package, so be it. Being enthusiastic about what you do for a living is essential for your wellness and career path planning. Doing what you love comes naturally and feels like eternal play. It makes getting income from feel like a bonus.

A negative work environment is not only a health hazard but damaging to your other valuable relationships too. If one is not able to bring change in his/her strenuous work environment, leaving for another job is a matter of urgency. However leaving for a job that is outside your planned career path can be like moving from an oven to a fireplace. It is just not wise going where your talents and enthusiasm is absent.

If you are bored in your current job; you spend endless hours doing anything else but work; you don’t like seeing your boss; you drag yourself out of bed every day hating what lies ahead. You are not in the right job. Follow your heart and try your hands on what you love. I love writing and giving wellness advice, hence healthfun-ps.com.

As one gets to fall in love with a new hobby or skill, they adjust their passions and career plans accordingly. This is a lifetime project, as with growth people get their knowledge, experience and exposure widened. One’s interests, skills and development evolve and so do their career paths. When like most, one finds herself with a number of interests, they should consider job shadowing, internships and volunteer opportunities. This will help in narrowing the options.
