The Spirit of Revelation

Father, give me the Spirit of knowledge and revelation that I may know you

Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law

Psalm 119: 18

The Bible is the word of God. It is still relevant even today after so many years. People do not understand why we should follow a book that was written about 2 000 years ago. Many people have read the Bible and not get a thing. Others even get more confused after reading the Bible.

To get the most out of the Bible – messages relevant specially for your specific situation - you must ask the Lord to open your eyes that you may see wonderful things in His word. He inspired this word and He can explain what it means to you. You won’t get much from the Bible in a canal state. Ask the Lord every time you study the Word to open your eyes.

Ephesians 1: 17 states that I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ … may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation that you may know him better. Note that the Apostle Paul does this continually for the Ephesians. We need to ask the Lord to reveal himself as we study his Word, then our time in the Word will be fruitful. I’m convinced that Paul prayed this prayer for himself also. No wonder he had such insight into the Word of God.

With God’s revelations, the Word will have a completely new meaning to you. It will be a time of conversation with the Lord. You will know the Lord even better. The reason the world can’t trust the Lord today is partly that we don’t know him. If we did, we would know how much He loves us and how much He loves to meet our needs.
