The Glory of God and it's Victory! The glory of God: Whose glory are you seeking?
"This day the Lord will hand you over to me, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. Today I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s and he will give all of you into our hands." When you go into a battle seeking to bring glory to the name of the Lord, He indeed wins it for you. David understood this principle very well. When he was faced with Goliath, he made it clear that he was engaging in that fight so that the whole world may know that there is a God in Israel. God did come through for him and he defeated Goliath. Fellow Christians, it is our surrender into God’s will that wins battles for us. When we engage in a battle in a battle with the intention of glorifying the name of the Lord, we will not be disappointed. The bible is full of stories of men of God who won seemingly impossible victories because of their desire to glorify the name of God. In 1 Kings 18: 36 when the fire of God came and burnt the offerings, Elijah’s prayer was as follows; “O lord , God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done this things at your command. Elijah was not seeking his glory but to let people know the name of the Lord. Jesus Christ when he was about to be crucified, he said Father glorify your name. You see it was not for his name’s sake that Jesus died for us. It was for the glory of God. God therefore defeated death and glorified his name. It is clear that if we do things to glorify the Lord and to let people know about him, victory is imminent. The scripture says that He bought us for a price. We were slaves to sin and now we are slaves to Christ. We should therefore present ourselves as living sacrifices to the Lord. We must stop seeking to make names for ourselves and strive to let people know about the Lord. People must know which God you serve. Whatever you do, do it for the glory of God. In this way overwhelming victory will be yours no matter the size of giants that you may face.
