Wedding Anniversary Gifts

Wedding anniversary gifts sometimes give us a headache as we don’t have an idea what to give. I know that and I think sticking to the traditional gifts is the way to go. There are about 24 traditional anniversary gift ideas. I don’t know if the list can work in today’s materialistic world. However we will try to modernize each gift.

Year 1: Paper

The gift for the first year is paper so we will try and make a “Love Certificate”, buy a book or get a voucher for our significant other. Don’t you think these make great gifts?

Year 2: Cotton:

In the absence of a more brilliant idea, I would buy a shirt. It is after all cotton.

Year 3: Leather

You must be noticing the sequence. Gifts are becoming more and more expensive. How about a bag or shoes?

Year 4: Fruit or Flowers

Get her a good bunch of roses and petals everywhere in the house. Or a delivered fruit and nut basket for him. I really love fruit baskets as gifts.

Year 5: Wood

Be creative with this one.

Year 6: Sugar

I thought of cake, chocolate or sweet wine. Anything sweet.

Year 7: Wool and Copper

Some copperware, jewels or a wool sweater.

Year 8: Bronze or Pottery

How about a bronze medal for a deserving spouse. Even a trophy would do.

Be creative again.

Anything shinny.

I guess linen, it is.

Lingerie is a great gift.

Year 14: Ivory

Again ivory jewels will make for a great present.

I again think of jewels.

Year 20: China

Dinner set.

Year 25: Silver

I again think of jewels.

Year 30: Pearl

What is prettier than pearls.

Year 35: Silver

I again think of jewels.

Year 40: Ruby

Year 45: Sapphire

Year 50: Gold

Year 55: Emerald

Year 60: Diamond

Looks like you have to earn Diamond.
