What is Love?What is love? Do we really know the true meaning of love? Does love mean the same to all? I will try and give my own meaning of love and hope you can agree with me. All we want is being accepted by others irrespective of how and whom we are. Acceptance gives you the sense of belonging and homeliness. Giving. Indeed we love by giving. We give our time, materialistically, appreciation and our space when we fall for people. Receiving. And yes receiving is another way that displays the act of loving. Being receptive makes it easy for the other party to be their true self. Receive compliments, receive gifts and receive correction. It makes your bond to be stronger. Forgiving. need I say more. You forgive those you love without even trying. In arguments, disagreements, mistakes and pain we need to forgive. Selfless. The loyalty that a dog would display is driven by the feelings, very deep feelings of putting one’s needs before your own. If someone can’t do that, they don’t love. What is love, really? Complete. There is absolutely nothing lacking when two adore each other. You may be in the rain homeless and without any form of shelter and still feel you have everything. Your life is just complete because you have each other. Healing. If God is love, it means that. And God heals. We have witnessed people waking up from the coma because they are touched by those they are deeply in love with. It is like magic and it gives people a power to strive. Beautiful. I have been fortunate to witness couples that are inlove. As a young adult I knew a couple in their 70s who were hopelessly inlove. Their love was so touching it made me shed a tear. They prayed to God to die together. It never happened and the man’s funeral was actually a lovely gathering. Just Love. Only God can define it. Its perfect, not easily angered, patient, kind, not envious, not jealous, not proud. It is just perfect!!! When you find love, don’t lose it.
