Your Life is Getting Better

Welcome to 2009. I would like to take this opportunity to announce to each one of you that this year will be better than last year. Some may be surprised to hear this on the basis of what you have already seen happening in your life during the first few days of the year. You may be saying that it seems as if the challenges of last year are just continuing to pile up. However, the good news is that what you see is not final. The Word says that your life is bound to get better.

Let us pause a bit and look at how dawn looks like. I know that we all believe that once the light of dawn comes, we are convinced that it will get brighter. That is why most people wake up at dawn and start doing their work and daily activities. It is because of their knowledge that the day will get brighter as the day grows older. Once it is dawn, each minute we experience the brightness of day coming.

God says that this is the same with the lives of Christians. Some Christians have got a tendency of thinking and believing that righteousness is earned by deeds. In all honesty, every Christian is righteous because we become as such because of the grace of God that is given to us and reflected in Christ Jesus. I am not trying to condone sin. That is a different subject altogether. We know that those who are in Christ do not continue living in sin. If we believe that we are righteous, we should also believe that our lives are getting better each day. What we see may not be reflecting that, but the truth is they are getting better.

Folks remember that since we mostly see things in comparison, some of the staff we see changes with the environment. In this regard, I find it advisable to believe on the Word that has been tried and tested. In this way the quality of our lives will be better. Let us hold on to what is true. And what is it? The Word of God. It is true. It has been tried and tested. It never failed a single test to those who persevere. My advice to you is that you should hold on to the Word. Believe that your life is getting better because the Word of God says so. It may not be clear now, but if you hold on long enough, you will agree with the Word in the end. Just look into the previous years as an example. Can you say your life has gotten better or worse? Most probably, it has gotten better. If it seems to have gotten worse, we are looking into a very short space of time. We should not allow events to blind the truth that is hidden in the Word. LET 2009 BE YOUR BEST YEAR. LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE BRIGHTER THIS YEAR. AMEN.
