Your True Value Comes from God

This scripture tells us that our importance should not come from what people think or say about us. Instead, it must come from what the word of God says about us. We should not determine our importance by comparing ourselves with people. We should not measure ourselves with other people as this is limiting. Using yourselves as standard is subjective. For example, if you are in a particular group that is restricted and limited to a particular environment, the most prominent person in that group or environment will be used as a standard to determine the best. This will be so until the group get exposed to people who are ten times or even hundred times better than that person. It may be intelligence, wealth, beauty etc that you are comparing. As long as you are using the worldly standard, it will remain subjective.

So we therefore have to measure ourselves according to what God says. According to whom God says we are. If you use the worldly standard, anything that does not conform to what they know or have seen, is not acceptable. That is why sometimes you may happen to be like Daniel, Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego who were ten times wiser than their counterparts. When you are not accepted, it may be because your operation is beyond the bounds of the usual norm.

As a Christian, you therefore should not measure yourself with other people. Don’t use people to determine how far you can go in life. Do not also allow people to tell you how far you can go in life. They advice in line with what they have seen and/ or already know. They measure you with the ‘best person’ and/ or ‘achievement’ they have ever seen. Rise up above the known norms. God is able to create anything new. God is creating a new thing in you. Something that has never been seen before. Allow him to use you at that level. Don’t allow the world to talk you down. If God can create something and anything from nothing, he can surely create something and anything from and through you because you are something. Even if you were nothing, God could still create something out of you. Don’t use people to determine the ceiling of your abilities. Use God. Be what and who God says you are. Do what God says you can do.
